Skroup, Frantisek

Frantisek Joseph Skroup(1801-1862), Czech composer/conductor, studied philosophy and law, then involved in a group activities for opera, his talent for singing and conducting soon made him a leader. His opera "Dratenik" was regarded as the first all Czech opera. He conducted in Prague and Rotterdam. He composed 5 operas and the national anthem of Czechoslovakia.
