Sojo, Vincente Emillo

Vincente Emilio Sojo(1887-1974), Venezuelan composer, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Caracas, then taught there, he helped found the Venezuelan Symphony, leading it for 20 years, alsoestablished the Lamas Singing Society and directed the Tribuna musical at Caracas cathedral. The influence of Venezuelan traditional music is strong in his works. His works include sacred music, organ and guitar pieces, and arrangement of folk songs.
